Tap Club
Tap Club on Reserve St. in Missoula, Montana.
From my instagram
“New one at Tap Club which is opening tomorrow on the corner of Reseve and Mullan. This one had a quick timeline and it’s always kind of interesting what comes out of your head when you’re working faster. I think the idea was probably influenced from snorkeling around a lot at that moment and proving that the river that runs through it is actually, mostly beer. I wanted to make something playful with the strong colors of the space, a little more poppy, loose, graffiti-adjacent landscape? The vibe is a little more on the modern industrial side which fits this part of town. While painting I was thinking about how it’s as close to the river as any of the projects I’ve done downtown but just a stretch not many go on. Probably partly due to the wastewater treatment plant and the other mysterious scents of Reserve St. Is it a river of beer or a river of beer’s primary byproduct? Appropriately this one leads filled bladders to the toilets thus completing the perpetual circle of Missoula, City of Beer. Our beer-quifer? Our Beer-ter shed? 🤷♂️
Love working on projects with others who are from around here, where every conversation at some point (especially on this part of town) goes to the “ I remember when there was nothing out here, Reserve St. didn’t even exist.” Local art helps make local places feel more local, even when they’re surrounded by the chains of everytown, USA. They open to the public tomorrow(Thursday) Beer!”
